The idea

Fifty forecast numbers, boiled down to one honest answer.

Every other app hands you a wall of figures and lets you do the maths. Goworthy already knows the limits for each activity, so it just tells you where today stands.

Rain and snow, on the clock

See the rain and snow coming

Whatever you head out for, rain or snow is the usual spoiler. When it is on the way, a clean graph appears on the spot: when it starts and how hard it gets, in mm for rain or cm for snow. Press and drag along it to read the exact time and intensity at any point. On a dry day it simply stays hidden.

You set how sure it has to be. A Minimum rain/snow chance dial keeps low-confidence blips off a clear day, and the graph fades when the outlook is uncertain, so it stays honest about what it knows.

Independent rain and snow alerts give you about 15 minutes' heads-up before each forecast shower, and are refreshed in the background whenever iOS allows.

Live rain radar on the map

Open the map for an animated rain radar and watch rain and snow move across it, so you can see whether a band is heading your way or clearing out. Around the Netherlands it is a genuine two-hour forecast, so you can see the rain before it arrives, and in the Netherlands and Belgium the home screen follows it too for the next two hours. It plays on its own when there is precipitation nearby, and rests on a clean map when the sky is clear.

Every sky in Goworthy is hand-drawn in code, a live procedural animation, running on the home screen and on every card in your Locations list. The sun's bloom and light shafts, drifting clouds and high cirrus, drizzle, showers, snow, fog, lightning and blowing leaves, star fields and the moon in its true phase and real place in the sky, all tracking the real weather and the light as it moves from sunrise through golden hour, blue hour and night. No stock imagery, no video, no canned effects. And Sandy, our little crab, reacts to all of it.

Sandy is the little crab who lives inside Goworthy. Open any spot and she is right there in the sky, reacting to the very weather you are checking: soaking up the sun on a Go day, bracing when the wind picks up, watching the stars come out at night. She is the face on the app icon too, holding up the green GO sign for the days that are worth heading out.

The story

Made by an independent developer, not a data company.

Goworthy started at home. Its maker, Pierre van Mever, flies drones, which only work when the wind and the light line up. His family loves the water and the night sky too: the SUP when the sea is right, the stars when the sky is clear. Chasing all of that across three apps and a wall of numbers got old, so he built the one clear answer he kept wishing for.

It is built independently, so it answers to you, not advertisers: no ads, no tracking, no account, no data harvesting. Every forecast model, every verdict, and every sky, all hand-drawn in code, is the work of one person trying to get it right.
